Why is this order different from the order on the ballot?
The emphasis is on voting all the way down the ballot.

Notice that there are two Democrats running for the Corporation Commission where utility rates are approved. There are other interesting races “down ballot” like Donna Davis running for the Community College Board (this is a non-partisan race).

Democrats need to vote all the way down the ballot.

Down ballot also applies to voting for all six statewide races. The nominees all have great background for the offices they are running for.

The Democrat running for the State House of Representatives is the sole candidate (called a single shot). Christine Scianna is the only one who came forward and there is a theory that this will result in more votes for her. It takes only 4 races out of 60 to flip the Legislature blue. Let’s do our part. Vote on for Christine and leave the second field blank.

Judge Recommendations
Civic Engagement Beyond Voting (CEBV) created Gavel Watch as a resource for voters who want to learn more about the judges on their ballot that are up for a retention vote.
They have two versions of the report:

The Watch Report lists each individual judge up for retention and has both the scores from the Judicial Performance Board and the vote recommendation with a rationale for each judge as determined by CEBV. This detail starts on Page 10 of the Gavel Watch.

The Watch Summary is an at-a-glance version that simply lists the judge names and the vote recommendation.
